Summary

As a Customer Service Trainee at Tech Mahindra, you'll be a critical member of our data engineering team, working alongside data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines. You'll leverage your expertise in data engineering tools and technologies to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources, ensuring its accuracy, consistency, and availability for downstream applications.

Your responsibilities will also include collaborating with stakeholders to understand data requirements, designing data models, and implementing data quality checks. You'll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, solve complex data challenges, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using industry-standard tools and technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, AWS, Azure)
• Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources (databases, APIs, flat files)
• Develop and implement data quality checks and data cleansing routines
• Design and implement data models to optimize data storage and retrieval
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure smooth operation and data integrity
• Automate data processing tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell)
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering
• Document data pipelines and processes for maintainability

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in data engineering or a related role (experience can be adjusted based on company needs)
• Strong understanding of data engineering concepts (ETL, data warehousing, data governance)
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop) is a plus
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
